Words cannot express how in love i am with this song.
I especially like to listen to it when i go for the occasional afternoon walk.
Is there a song that you've listened to a lot this week? If so, please share!

Spring Into Minimalism 2013
Farewell Books, Austin, Texas

Tonight i attended The Minimalists' Spring Into Minimalism SXSW Meetup at Farewell Books. I bought a couple of books, mingled with strangers and even made small talk with The Minimalists (this is huge considering how shy and awkward i can be around strangers)!

A few months ago a friend of mine posted a link to their website. Shortly before devouring all of their essays, i had considered living a simpler life. I gave up my car for two months, and all that time on the city bus was spent reading and listening to podcasts. Not having to pay for gasoline, insurance, and maintenance, was liberating! However, my immune system did not appreciate being exposed to all those germs by riding the bus daily. I am now back in my car and feel that it is a NEED considering my work hours and how far i live, but there are other ways to cut unnecessary things from my life. I'll let you know how that goes!

Have you tried living a simpler/minimalist life? If so, how is it working for you?

Zilker Kite Festival
Austin, Texas

Last weekend I spent the afternoon with friends (both old and new!) at the Zilker Kite Festival. It was a last minute gathering so we went unprepared... without blankets, snacks, or kites! My friends, however, found a Barbie kite and we took turns flying that. We felt silly but it was a lot of fun! Ahh, how i had missed the sunlight!

I am so happy that winter is practically over. It was not a pretty winter! My immune system was lacking and i got sick so much. I am looking forward to Texas' super short spring and early summer! Naturally, when winter comes around, not only do i go into hibernation, but so do my cameras. I will dust them off and hope to revive this tiny little weblog soon!

27.12.12 winter laziness
Well, it's officially winter. This is the season when my camera usually goes into hibernation so there won't be any new photographs for a while. I still have a couple of undeveloped rolls from the FELIZ SALE i went to last month. Ahh, how warm it was then! I hope to conquer my winter laziness and drop my film off at the lab soon.

December has been such a wonderful month and many exciting things have happened. One of them being i registered for the spring semester. I'm super excited but nervous at the same time considering i work full-time and have a killer commute as it is. So long, social life! BA, here I come! For realsies this time.

I've also started living a simpler life. I've cut back on spending a lot and even ditched my car and started riding my bike. It's nice not having to worry about paying the insurance, oh, it's time to fill up, oh, you need an oil change, etc. I'm enjoying the things I already have so much more and it's such a nice feeling. I've tackled the NEW BOOKS pile that's been on my desk since late summer.

Last week I got my wisdom teeth taken out. ALL FOUR! I seem to be recovering rather well. I need to schedule a follow up appointment and see what my options are for braces! I want the New Year to have a good start. Of course I'll have the usual resolutions but I'd really like to reinvent myself. Dress differently, make an effort to look nice (do my hair every morning instead of just brushing it and what even is makeup?), basically be more confident (hence the braces). I think this tiny diary will be about little life changes here and there. I'm excited!

To my readers, I hope you had a Happy Christmas with friends and family and may all your wishes come true in the New Year!
